To participate in the selection, Designers (UNDER 35 years) are invited to complete the application, including the portfolio and a short video presentation, at:
The Development Agency of the Chair Industrial District - Asdi Sedia and the National Institute of Foreign Trade ICE, with the participation of the magazine Interni, promote a workshop dedicated to the innovation of wooden products, with the aim of developing new concepts and new products capable of stimulating the companies of the District to conceive wood as a material that can be used both for the traditional production of seats and for the development of new products in new market segments. From 5 to 11 June 2011 the District will be animated by a week of meetings focused on the relationship between Design and Territory.
The workshop will be held in the Italian Chair District (Udine, Italy), an area renowned for its hills and vineyards of which it is surrounded, in the heart of a region which for nearly two centuries specializes in woodworking. (Www.italian-chair-district.it)
Three masters of Italian design will guide a group of young designers selected in the development of new product ideas to be realized in wood. The work will count on the assistance of a group of local experts for woodworking. The results will be discussed in real time with the twenty-four companies involved in the project.
Will be selected eight designers under 35, one for each of the following countries:
Sweden, Germany, Czech Republic, Turkey, Lebanon, Poland, Holland, Italy.
Each designer will be selected guest in Italian Chair District from the 5 11 2011 June by ASDI and ICE.
