At the event for FuoriSalone 2012 Milan, the Swiss company launches Video Contest (Delivery extended until April 6 2012), About what makes the innovative design and the democratic dialectic between aesthetics and function.
In 2011, Geberit - the leading Swiss group in sanitary technology - officially made its entrance into the world of design by presenting the Monolith system during the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and contributing to the collective reflection on the evolution of the bathroom environment. In 2012 the company wants to further stimulate the debate by inviting architects, designers and students to discuss what makes design innovative and democratic in the dialectic between aesthetics and function, hence the idea of using Facebook, Twitter and Youtube as a virtual agora on the Innovation Democracy concept, a slogan that symbolizes Geberit's historic commitment to innovation that is truly accessible.
The project -firmato by architects and design Michela Benaglia and Domenico Orefice, B + O of Milan - provides for a Video Contest between January and February 2012 in which students from the Faculties of Architecture and Schools of Art and Design are invited to produce a video-contribution of up to 60 seconds with definition (among those proposed or original). Innovation Democracy will thus be the first true Social Event of the Fuorisalone del Mobile 2012 animating the spaces of Via Pontaccio 19 (Zona Brera) in Milan from 17 to 22 April with videos and contributions collected and shared on Web 2.0
