tail is a collection of seats designed by Roberto Paoli to Sown Mercadante. The designer's work is carried out largely in the observation of the world around us and Tail has found inspiration from the animal world. If we think of an animal with a tail particularly robust, all of us think that the kangaroo is one of the few that manages to support himself entirely only on the tail.
The animal uses its tail as a spring to jump or as a support to rest. This is probably the concept that inspired Roberto Paoli suggesting the product Tail: the person who sits on this session seems to have a tail that supports it.
In a kind of mythology of today's design the user becomes funny centaur, half man, half kangaroo.
Roberto Paoli emphasizes the integration between object and man anthropomorphic suggesting a synergy between two entities that have never complementary. The object for Roberto Paoli becomes an extension of the user who enjoys using it to turn into what it is not.
It's a balancing act sophisticated, it was not easy to create a solution monogamba chair with a support that you have on the ground in a circle to create a rigid support base. This unique form is unique about the object, is conjugated in three different proposals: chair, stool and stool.
The chair has a surrounding seat that easily accommodates the user. The stool is provided with a slightly snug fitting body and a curly tail that goes back upwards to form a practical footrest. The stool completes the collection by providing a sitting space-saving.
The chairs in the collection are made with Tail tail painted steel with a matte finish and the seat of injection molded plastic. Tail is available in more colors.
