Sometimes the infinitely small is the gateway to infinite universes. Knowing systems classifiers rigorous, entomology maintains direct contact with the charm and beauty of the discovery: this is its secret charm, the starting point used by Alessandro Zambelli for Maggiolina, the new collection of table lamps and Wall .exnovo previewed at Maison et Objet.

Along with science and wonder, the designer adds a great dimension, which takes up the theme of metamorphosis surreal: the former can only be tracked in Kafka's Metamorphosis, in which the protagonist wakes up transformed into a clumsy animal. In Maggiolina, the Kafkaesque story becomes the starting point for developing another metamorphosis, surreal but equally playful and engaging: a beetle turns into a lamp. Here then is the rounded shape of the diffuser in sintered polyamide - made printing 3D professional - we see the kind of armor wing cases, ready to reveal the source of light inside. The game continues and suggests, even in the base ceramic crafts, new parts and comparisons: at this point it is clear membership of Maggiolina to the family of scarabs.

Available in white, teal, marsala and mustard, the new lamps .exnovo combine technical precision and great size, calculation and wonder, solidity and immateriality, compactness and lightness. Innovative technology and craftsmanship, manufacturing digital and analog care: Maggiolina reveals further metamorphosis - intrinsic to its realization - that combine elements seemingly opposite each other. The result - a characteristic of all production .exnovo - is a synthesis in which technology is serving crafts: hence collections of manufacturing excellence that transforms the industrial production in limited editions and unique pieces.
