After two editions of Summer Schools, IZMO organized the first edition of the Winter International School of Turin (Italy) from January to 16 25 2013 January, which focuses on interior design and creative reuse. The course is aimed at students, graduates, professionals, and, in general, anyone interested in the theme of ecological and creative design.
The lectures (in English) are taught by experienced teachers and design and creative re-use of space, with the aim of providing a broader look and multidisciplinary as possible. In addition, students will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the methods of ecological design and interactive that will allow him or her to work creatively with waste materials and to get closer to the practices of participatory design.
The training will be further strengthened by a meeting with Controprogetto [Italy], UdA [Italy] and Truly Design [Italy], which as a special-guests can show their projects and approaches to the topic. At the end of the lectures, participants take effective action on a public bus fired, located in Cecchi Point-yard: a multicultural hub of a district located in Turin, near the office of IZMO.
Students will design and repair the bus, in order to create a new urban space: a playroom for the children of the neighborhood, who usually meet at the point of Cecchi after school hours.
Each student will receive all the materials and work tools needed and will IZMO personal mentor at every stage of the project.
The participants of the Winter School will be assigned 4 credits, recognized by the Politecnico di Torino, transferable to any other university.
In addition, it will provide continued support in logistics, accommodation search, mobility and tourism.
