Over the years 1941 and 1942 ???? ????, studies Jean Prouvé devised and realized many interior design projects for the chemical company Solvay. Among his many projects of the time there is also a wooden table which is an emblem of the work of Prouvé: the table Table Solvay Vitra.
The needs of the static and the trend of forces are clearly reflected in its design details, similarly to the next EM Table Vitra which differs from Table Solvay Vitra for its metal legs.
When the Table Solvay Vitra was created during World War II, there was a shortage of metals and legs were therefore made of wood. The solid wood with oil finish give the Table Solvay Vitra a touch of warmth that makes up the coldness of the original design.
Presented at furniture exhibition 2013 and distribution from October, the table Table Solvay will join the already known EM Table so that complete its range.
? The table is composed of a top in solid oiled; natural oak or hickory smoked; base: combined with the top, made of solid wood oiled in natural oak or hickory smoked; and cross tubular steel powder coated.
