This renovation project of a historic building located in the center of Foz do Douro, in the city of Porto, seeks to rejuvenate one of the typical old houses in the area and adapt it to current needs.
The aim of the project was the construction of a single-family house on a lot with extraordinary morphological characteristics, which remained almost intact and unaltered. The land, about 12 thousand square meters, is located in a protected area due to the existence of numerous cork oaks.
The project consists of the expansion of the existing production unit to the west and south, with the construction of a new pavilion and an administrative building.
The proposal was to develop a project for an integrated health center, to be built in an existing room, with solar exposure to the south and east, conditioning the size of the rooms, based on the position of the existing windows.
