The national pavilion of Vietnam for Expo Milano 2015 opened, responding to the theme of "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life".
Designed by vo Trong Nghia architects , the project examines the global population increase. The temporary bamboo structure refers to the lotus, the national flower of Vietnam and symbol of optimism for the future.
The exhibition space is organized around a shallow pool that surrounds the pavilion, the cooling air creates a pleasant microclimate. Guests pass through the water on platforms in the shape of lotus leaf that provide a shaded area for outdoor recreation. In order to reduce the environmental impact, the structure bamboo prefab can be easily disassembled and reused after the event.
