“Narrow House” by Bassam el-Okeily architect of Brussels, is a three-story building built in Bilzen, a small town near the eastern border of Belgium.
The project, which is a collaborative design with Karla Menten architect, features a dynamic and expressive street façade: a glass-clad layer of space that could be defined as a thin atrium, with two protruding balconies at different angles and directions. illuminated in a multitude of colors, the “Narrow House” is like a sculpture at night.
The land on which it was built has a width of 5,3 meters, the mansion, built for a couple, it houses a garage and entrance on the ground floor. the second and third levels are completely enclosed in glass, exposing a white facade with a series of balconies. The lower balcony connects to the library and reading nook, offering natural light and a sheltered view of the street. The upper floor projects further forward and houses the studio where the woman of the house carries out her work as an artist.
