[TOKYO] Music Center Competition is the next architecture competition organized by [AC-CA]

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, is located south-east of the main island and is the most populous metropolitan area in the world.

Music comes from the Greek "mousikè" in relation to inspired art. Music is the art of combining sounds and silences, in a way that creates harmony and usually conveys an emotion. "Music and architecture are the only arts that surround you".

Un Music Centre it can also be a "Per-forming Arts CentreWhich offers a variety of contemporary classics, such as jazz, world music and other forms of entertainment.

PURPOSE OF THE CONTEST

The purpose of this international competition is to design a new Music Centre in the heart of Tokyo. The architecture of this new building should reflect contemporary design trends. The proposal must not only fulfill the specific function, but also take into account the urban context and impact. This competition hopes to achieve the following objectives:

  • Encourage and reward large-scale design excellence that integrates function, structure and details.
  • Research, respond to and highlight the unique aspects of a cultural building design.
  • Generate the discussion of ideas regarding the relationship between architecture and music.
  • Encourage the use of sustainable design in all aspects of the proposal.

AWARDS

The winning participants will receive prizes worth a total of US $ 6,000 with the distribution as follows:

1 PRIZE: dollars 3.500
2 prize: dollars 1.700
3 PRIZE: dollars 800
There will also be 7 honorable mentions.

Note: This is an international competition open hosted by [AC-CA] to generate progressive contemporary design ideas.
