FESTARCH.lab is the think tank of the Young Architects of Terni that 26 from May to June 1 invite the young Italian and international architecture right in Terni to develop themes and ideas for the grand finale: FESTARCH -International Architecture Festival by Abitare, scheduled between Perugia and Assisi from 2 to 5 June.

Festarch.lab is a new variation of the festival Festarch, a project dedicated to architecture, design and urban development that was born from the meeting between Stefano Boeri and GATR, the association of the Young Architects of Terni. continuously reinvents in search of new forms of living. A full program of activities, convivial moments, performances, in which Italian and international architects will participate.

Festarch.lab it is an opportunity to create opportunities for debate and comparison, trying to make architecture a shared, discussed and participated theme in the local area; a way to talk about architecture and directly touch the daily life of millions of people. An objective that is not at all difficult, if anything fascinating and engaging, in fact, by now, speaking of design and architecture we cannot fail to take into consideration how much these themes directly influence people's daily lives, and how these aspects are increasingly linked to lifestyles and choices that we perform daily.

The program Festarch.lab
Festarch.lab is comparable to a real construction site, where seminars, workshops and exhibitions are incubators of new ideas. The Town Thinking of Festarch.lab is a participatory practice, a format full of meetings where there is no shortage of illustrious personalities such as Ole Bouman , director of the Dutch Institute of Architecture (Nai) in Rotterdam, Philippe Rizzotti of the French collective Exyzt, who will present the winning project of the Parco Solare Sud International competition in 2010 for the reuse of some sections of Salerno-Reggio Calabria and the URBAN ECOSYSTEM ( from Spain), who will work on community participation. There will also be space for itinerant activities such as the Veloday, a bicycle tour to discover the city limits led by Sergey Nikitin (RUS), creator of the International Velonotte.The calendar of the event also includes exhibitions, theatrical and musical performances, spaces for children and site-specific installations spread throughout the city, including the one designed by the Dutch West8 urban design & landscape architecture by Adrian Geuze, created in collaboration with the Dutch Embassy. A central space will have "I RING", meetings / clashes that will take place in the temporary ring designed by the 2A + P / A architecture studio in Piazza della Repubblica, where three great names in international architecture such as Stefano Boeri, Italo Rota and Paolo Desideri will be interviewed and prodded each by three young architects - chosen between the Nau-Network Umbri Architects, the Gatr-Young Architects Terni and the Giarch-National Coordination of Young ArchitectsItalians - around the themes of the city and contemporary architecture. Finally, the festival will host the national holiday of GIARCH - the national network of young Italian architects.

, A natural amphitheater surrounded by green hills, seems to be the perfect location in which set Festarch.lab; is not only a place that reveals unexpected corners where interesting artistic and monumental past report to other eras and other experiences, leading to admire important buildings and considerable charm, but it is also a city symbol of the quality of urban living.
The events will be held inside the CAOS Centro Arti Opificio Siri a unique place of its kind in Italy, a space of 6000 square meters, born from the reconversion of the ancient former Siri chemical factory, which hosts events, national and international temporary exhibitions, laboratories and creative residences, the modern and contemporary civic collection, a 300-seat theater and a new generation café bookshop. In an atmosphere of conviviality, experimentation and innovation as the name itself suggests.
