Sander van Eyk of the Cocoon Living studio has shone back to a three-story abandoned house, transforming it into a luxury home in the heart of Amsterdam, today inhabited by a passionate family of travel.

Used for the renovation of bathroom and kitchen, HI-MACS has contributed to the total transformation of this beautiful residence, between light, luxury and harmony.

Mastering the space is white and light, creating open spaces designed to emphasize, framing the furnishings present. To break this harmony, only the precious dark-wood fish plug, which recalls the ancient soul of the dwelling.

But it is in the complement that reveals the true spirit of the home: the decorative elements are in fact many memories of the travels experienced by the buyers and that, although completely different from geographical and historical origin, were inserted with wisdom within the contemporary context . This is how we find ourselves in the bathroom of the Versailles chandeliers in Baroque style next to some shells of tropical beaches, or the mirror of the living room, which recalls its Central African origin, located not far from a scarlet ibis, a South American bird whose plumage brilliant inevitably attracts the gaze.

Around the World through LIVING ROOM

Spacious and bright, the rich living room features stucco, woodwork and eccentric decorative objects. The central element of space is the great round table that invites conviviality and represents the symbol of the everyday life of the great family.

An elegant white plan, the KITCHEN attraction

A monumental handmade solid brass hood and a Carrara white marble wall: the image of the kitchen of this home is all about the contrasts between the most precious materials, including HI-MACS®, used for kitchen locks, geometric and completely white. The non-porous HI-MACS® surface, perfectly smooth and free of junctions, ensures maximum cleaning and hygiene. The stoves are embedded inside the floor for an astonishing visual continuity.

Even the doors, whose presence is declared only by a network of thin lines, almost invisible, are realized in HI-MACS®.

HI-MACS®, to gain space and light in the BATHROOM

In the bathroom, light and white finishes find their utmost expression and application, and contribute to making the environment visually more clean and spacious, with only 9,5 square meters.

Sander van Eyck, here, has used HI-MACS® Alpine White to create two identical washbasins, from essential lines, embedded inside a floor that invades invisibly a drawer. The washbasins, positioned opposite each other, leave a large space for the bathtub in the middle of the room. The game of mirrors, then, infinitely dilates the perspective, creating a surprising optical effect.

Complete the large golden chandelier that, together with the few black elements, interrupts the uniform candor of space, giving it warmth.
