Watching Cell Brick House from outside the question is how the interior of this extraordinary building are modeled. The skin of the house is what makes it so special. It shows a fascinating pattern of holes that rise from a rock-covered base. Boxes of small steel were placed
one above the other to model a rectangular block that houses the interior living spaces. Atelier Tekuto, the designers of the Cell Brick House, describe their challenges: “The first was to combine architectural opposites, the masonry structure that is the origin of the construction technique and the skin structure, which I looked for on my projects. The second was to innovate something that equips structure while maintaining functionality. “By combining specific measurements for steel bricks, the architects are able to ensure that the interiors will have the right temperature and sunlight all year round. By covering the bricks with a heat-resistant ceramic coating, the house is protected from overheating. The interiors are characterized by the personal effects of the inhabitants displayed on the shelves, this creates an interesting and personalized space.
