"London shooting venue", Magma Architecture, London
located in the London district of Woolwich, Magma Architecture's “London shooting venue”, will host the shooting events that will take place during the Olympics. Composed of two partially closed structures and one completely closed, the temporary buildings are completely mobile, easily dismantled and reassembled if necessary, without compromising the integrity of the ground.
Modular steel trusses, spars and simple volumes made 18.000 square meters of PVC double-layer stretched on buildings. The circular projections colored function as nodes of tension to support the membrane, but are also inputs and outputs for natural ventilation, which maintains the internal temperature comfortable. The tent PVC semi-transparent reduces the need for artificial lighting, making the project almost completely self-sufficient.
