Hangar Design Group presents at Fuorisalone 2016 a selection of his creations for Acera, a ceramic manufacturer in Taiwan and China: objects dedicated to personal well-being and home care, in the wake of oriental holistic culture, but strongly anchored to Italian design in shapes and choices of colors.

On the occasion of the Salone, the collection can be purchased online through the e-shop from the beginning of April.

The tradition of hand-modeled ceramics is as old as civilizations and is omnipresent on all continents. However, a particular space places this decorative art in the history of Taiwan, where a productive culture continues to flourish that has been able to renew itself and cross the culture of Southeast Asia with a more international vision.

The collaboration between Hangar Design Group and the Taiwanese manufacturer ACERA takes place in this context, in an exercise of constant contamination between ancestral techniques of ceramic art and contemporary design.

The collection interprets commonly used accessories - jugs, tableware, or the typical tea cup to take with you - grafting onto conventional forms and functions quotes and references to the posters of Italian design of the 80s, where the pictorial element and decorative becomes a fragment of a picture in motion.

Shapes are always essential: rounded cylinders, truncated conical jugs, semi-spherical bowls with rigorous geometries just softened by the need for use.

The common thread is the use of design and decorative pattern, which acts as a counterpoint to the functional constraint: full backgrounds alternate with large brushstrokes, texture variations give rise to ordered patterns, degradé colors chase each other on the surfaces of the objects in a large freedom of decoration.

The lines are declined in fresh pastel colors or sometimes in more intense colors, which are not afraid to venture into contrasting multicolored combinations.

The entire collection marries design and craftsmanship with well-being. It is in fact made of ceramic enriched with white tourmaline, a mineral capable of releasing negative ions that help purify the liquid or food contained, combining concrete beneficial effects with the pleasantness of a contemporary design.
