The 2017 Cristalplant design contest that the Treviso-based company launched in collaboration with the Dutch company Tortu, specialized in unconventional bathroom furnishings, is entitled Dutch Design Contest 2017.

After the2016 edition in collaboration with Elica who requested the design of a kitchen hood, the 2017 edition of the Cristalplant design contest will focus on bathroom furnishings, in particular on the theme of the washbasin.

 

Cristalplant® launches the Dutch Design Contest 2017 and seeks the best architects on the square! Creativity, innovation and technology are the focal points on which this initiative is based, in collaboration with Tortu, the leading Dutch non-conventional bathroom furniture company.

Dutch design contest 2017To participate in the new edition of the Cristalplant design contest is necessary Propose and develop a washbasin with innovative design that uses the Biobased Cristalplant as a building base, inspired by the Tortu style. The “Cristalplant® Dutch Design Contest 2017” competition provides free and open participation to architects of all ages and nationalities. The washbasin must be appropriate for use in luxury apartments, hotels and offices. The material with which it will be made, Cristalplant, adapts to any shape and concept: fluid, organic, perfectly planar, circular or faceted and angular. It is an absolutely ideal material to give life to creations with a soft touch effect.

All information on Cristalplant technology is available at www.cristalplant.it and in the section dedicated to the Cristalplant® Design Contest (designcontest.cristalplant.it). Each studio will be able to participate in multiple projects submitted by several architects. Unselected projects will not be published to allow planners to present them and re-use them in a professional context.

Deadline

The deadline for project delivery is July 1 2017. For each project, 3 renderings in .jpg format at 150 dpi resolution with dimensions of 210 × 297 mm (A4 format) must be submitted and uploaded to the appropriate section of the website www.cristalplant.it within the established deadlines.

The projects will be judged by a jury (made up of qualified personalities in the design and furnishing world) and presented to the public and press during the awards ceremony in the Tortu showroom in Rotterdam in September.

Among the selected designs, the jury will declare the winner to be included in the TORTU catalog. If the washroom is put into production by the 2018, it will remain in the sole discretion of TORTU. Worthy are therefore the visibility opportunities for the winner, who will be able to stand by affirmed designers and face significant growth opportunities.
