Significant Furniture 2015 twelfth edition

"The relaxation Places 2.0" Items of furniture for home relaxing

The twelfth edition of the International Competition Announcement "Significant Furniture", Organized by the Aldo Morelato Foundation, is launching a theme of 2.0 "The relaxation Places". The domestic space as opposed to the urban, which brings with it the accumulation of stress in exasperation, is increasingly seen as the resting place of mental and physical relaxation, with all its possible practices and tools. Participants will have to present a project that responds to this need for decompression stress, the search for peace and tranquility in the home where you can relax the head and body.

The Foundation Aldo Morelato, always active promoter of mobile "artfully done," he suggests participants to enhance within their proposals woodworking.

As every year the Morelato company will implement a prototype of the first prize winner, who will become part of the permanent collection of the MAAM, the Museum of Arts in Apllicate Mobile Foundation.

Up for grabs for the 2014 edition there are two important distinctions:
• First Prize of € 5.000,00 "Fondazione Aldo Morelato Opera-Project" (for professionals);
• Prize of € 2.500,00 Student (for students).

The competition is open to Italian and foreign professional designers and students of the various schools of design and architecture. The material must be delivered no later than May 5 2015. only the new projects will be allowed, which will then be selected by a jury composed of: Silvana Annichiarico (Director of the Triennale Design Museum), Ettore Mocchetti (designer and director of AD / Condé Nast magazine), Giovanni Levanti (Industrial Designer), Ugo La Pietra (designer and theorist of applied arts, art director of FAM), and Giorgio Morelato (President of FAM).

The final evaluation will take place on June 12 2015 and the outcome will be available directly on the site of the Aldo Morelato Foundation by June 30 2015. As for the winning projects and those reported by merit they will be contacted directly by the organizing secretary. Later at the fair Abitare il Tempo in Verona at Villa Dionisi, headquarters of the Aldo Morelato Foundation, during the evening dedicated to the Observatory on Applied Art will be exhibited the works awarded and the prototype of the winner.
