Refugi Lieptgas: Swiss hideaway citing the past in modern dress

From a distance the Refugi Lieptgas seems a typical log cabin, located in the Swiss Alps between the village Flims (Graubünden) and the forest. Taking a closer look, we realize that the cabin is made of concrete.

The complex of buildings was constructed and used in the past for the production of wine and tsipouro and spaces of the structure then served for the various processes of making and as a warehouse. Small rooms, in which was pressing the grapes, are connected to a space of double height, where they had placed the barrels.

berge by Nils Holger Moormann: sustainable design and functional simplicity

berge in the Bavarian Alps in the south-east of Monaco, bears the signature of Nils Holger Moormann. Known for its simple, functional furniture, he had never in mind to design a welcoming place. The designers had bought a plot of land which was also part of the house of the seventeenth century, being protected as historical, it was to be preserved. So work began a thorough restoration that kept intact only the outer body, the interior has been completely redesigned.
