Clinic Stands Architects (Hiroshi Yokozeki, Yuji Shimiz, Kyoko Ikuta) from Nagoya, recently completed a house called "Casa O" which is located in
Mie, in Japan. The house has a cleverly integrated garage, which can be viewed from the inside. The garage is like a physical extension of the street, a glass partition draws a fine line between the inside-outside boundary, allowing you to see parked cars from inside. The house is arranged around a central courtyard, the layout is organized in a spiral with varying degrees of privacy. From the entrance, the bedroom and bathroom are positioned behind the courtyard, while the kitchen and living area open around the garage. Corners of the rectangular plan are tapered to further establish a sense of movement in a circle. A small mezzanine above the kitchen serves as a multi-functional platform with a view.
