After Zaha Hadid, Daniel Libeskind, Toyo Ito, Oscar Niemeyer, Alvaro Siza, Rem Koolhaas, Olafur Eliasson, Frank Gehry, SANAA and Jean Nouvel for the 2011 edition of the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion, Peter Zumthor was invited.
Wood, fabric and sand are the materials with which the structure will be built. The garden at the center of the building, is the Dutch landscape architect Piet Oudolf, awarded an honorable mention at the Biennale of Architecture in Venice. The garden will be reached after covering dark corridors and silent, in a sort of "preparatory route" to the quiet of the green.
